About Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is where the UAE's soul lives. As the country's capital and largest emirate, it blends extraordinary cultural heritage with world-class modernity in a way that feels considered rather than rushed. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque — one of the world's most beautiful buildings — is reason enough to visit, but Abu Dhabi rewards deeper exploration.

The capital's waterfront Corniche stretches for 8 kilometres of clean beaches, manicured parks, and sparkling Gulf views. Yas Island has transformed into one of the world's great entertainment destinations, home to Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, and the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix circuit. The Louvre Abu Dhabi — a stunning Jean Nouvel-designed museum on Saadiyat Island — houses a world-class collection linking civilisations across history.

Away from the city, Abu Dhabi's Eastern Mangroves offer peaceful kayaking through ancient ecosystems, and our guided tours connect you with the emirate's rich cultural traditions, including its world-famous falconry heritage.

One of the world's largest mosques and arguably its most beautiful. The all-white marble exterior and interior can hold 41,000 worshippers. Free entry — modest dress required.

Practical Information

Best Time to Visit

October – March

Autumn and winter bring ideal conditions — warm days of 24–30°C perfect for outdoor activities, beach visits, and sightseeing. April to September is extremely hot; focus on indoor attractions and indoor activities during this period.

Getting Around

Abu Dhabi is more spread out than Dubai and less well-served by public transport. Taxis and ride-share apps (Careem) are the most practical way to get around. Many of our tours include hotel pickup. A rental car is useful for exploring Yas Island and the Corniche independently.

Traveller Tips

  • 1Modest dress is required at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque — free abayas and kanduras are provided at the entrance if needed.
  • 2Abu Dhabi operates under slightly more conservative social norms than Dubai — public displays of affection should be avoided.
  • 3The Louvre Abu Dhabi is closed on Tuesdays — plan accordingly.
  • 4Book Ferrari World in advance during school holidays and UAE public holidays.
  • 5The mangrove kayaking tour is best at sunrise or sunset — book the early departure in winter for the best experience.
